Public Info

Allan Parachini was fired from the LA County Superior Court for allegedly leaking information to celebrity gossip website TMZ.com. Had this been true, I would agree that termination would have been lawful and the right thing to do. However, when you dig deeper, you find out that Parachini was really terminated because he released public information when the powers that be did not want to release it. To me, this is just wrong. Public information is public information. Regardless if your boss wants you to drag out the process for releasing the info, you have a duty to your city and state to release the info when it is requested and not to delay for political reasons. http://http//www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-allan-parachini-20101119,0,5754548.story

Tom Brokaw-- Not convinced Facebook and Twitter is the answer

In a recent interview, Tom Brokaw talked about his growing interest in social media, but still was very tentative about creating a facebook account. He was worried that he would become "unnerved" by keeping up with granddaughters and reading things that weren't meant for him.
Moreover, Brokaw does not have a twitter account, even though there is a twitter account @TomBrokaw.
This is all very interesting. Brokaw admits that the industry is changing and although he is retired, he is still helping out in NBC specials. If he is going to continue to be part of the changing media, he is going to have to take one for the team and create a facebook and twitter.
